After returning from a much needed stay-cation to the in-laws with just a few hours to finish day Twelve, I thought I’d give myself a few days’ grace after Christmas to actually finish all twelve tasks, but who am I kidding? Life (and kids) don’t stop moving just because it’s Christmas! With that disclaimer wrapped in an apology for the delay, I decided I may as well just blog what I have. It’s not much, but it’s better than nothing!
So, on the twelfth (and final) “day” of Christmas cleaning, here’s what I got done:
Twelve corners dusted – good riddance, cobwebs!
Eleven Two shelves organized – more kitchen progress Ten drawers straightened – Nine Two decorations – Found two more ornaments for the tree, Eight items recycled –
Seven items tossed – Lots and lots of wrapping and packaging
Six things donated – sorting through more kids’ clothes
Five Some mini errands – technically, I lost count, but donations dropped off, items went into storage, and garbage/recycle went out.
Four containers filled/emptied – unloading suitcases and boxes from the car pretty much fulfilled this task, but more sorting in the kids’ room and diaper/wipe boxes unloaded
Three surfaces cleaned– re-claimed the sofa, again, and reached the bottom of both laundry hampers
Some vacuuming – (following a baby powder incident)
And a well-loved, well-used kitchen… and a manageable plan to get it clean again!
*Next year, floors will be counted with three surfaces, and replaced with two items repurposed. We’ll see how that goes!
